Grow unto Salvation (1 Peter 2:2), Yang Hee Kim |
|
I am a housewife in my early forties. I first received the Lord Jesus when I was in the fifth grade. At that time, the fact that the Lord died for me because He loves me was marvelous and even shocking. From that time, I began to love the Lord. But passing through junior high and high school, despite my desire and effort, I have fell away from the Lord. I was even attracted to philosophy and Buddhism, which distracted me from the Lord. Meanwhile, I met some believers in the church in Seoul and the Lord convicted me about my salvation. I knew that I had not only received the life of God, but also that this life must grow in me. Later I realized that I could really experience all the riches in God's full salvation by not trusting in myself, but rather by growing in the life of God within me (Colossians 2:2, 19). That was a great turning point in my life and also in my family. Before this point, I had lost the will to go to college, and without any goal, I was just weak. But the local church's focus on Christ as the center made me powerful, so that I gained the motivation and energy to reach my goal. My parents were deeply involved in Buddhism. It hurt me that they didn't know the Lord. But the Lord opened the way of salvation to my family, and my parents and brothers and sisters gradually got saved. From that time until now, all my family members have come to take Christ as the center and meaning of their life, and to experience the growth of God's life within them. They are also longing for His coming back. Thank the Lord, and glory to the Lord for everything He has done. |
